Exercise and pregnancy at TWPT. 

Our trainers at TWPT have years of experience working with pre and post natal clients. Having a PT whilst going through the stages of pregnancy has many benefits.

How a personal trainer can help? 

  • Personalisation: a Personal Trainer can adapt exercise programmes and individual exercises to suit your needs and requirements throughout the pregnancy. Each client is different and so is each trimester, exercises that would be appropriate in the first trimester may not be in the third. Also previous and current injuries would need to be taken into account and exercises either adapted or omitted to make the most of the session. 
  • Safety: Each of our personal trainers at TWPT are fully qualified in pre and postnatal exercise. Our trainers also have plenty of experience training pre and postnatal clients in Tunbridge Wells over the years. Our trainers are knowledgeable about the individual limitations of exercise in each trimester. For example during the third trimester laying on one’s back to do an abdominal crunch or a chest press would be detrimental to the health of the baby. 
  • Accountability and monitoring: Having a trainer in your corner can really help keep motivation levels high during pregnancy. One of the ways we do this is monitor your progress, we can note down weights lifted and improvements in strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness as you go whilst monitoring your exercise intensity so it is within the safe limits of the current stage of pregnancy. Accountability wise we can keep you on track and help guide you through exercise and nutrition up to your due date. 
  • Support: Our trainers can provide ongoing support and be available to answer any questions you may have outside of your PT sessions. The support we provide is not limited to the time you spend in the gym. 
  • Tips and tricks: We have a lot of training and experience around exercising pre and post pregnancy, and we would be happy to share and provide education on the subject as you go. If you need more info on nutrition, sleep, motivation and how to generally stay healthy we can help. 

Having a PT coach you throughout pregnancy can also be a fun and rewarding experience, we can offer many forms of exercise to make pregnancy exercise fun but safe, some of forms of exercise we offer are that would be ideal for pre or post natal are:
