Do you have a goal? Why setting short term or weekly goals are important!

Starting the week with a plan for your eating and training is a great way to keep on track.

Setting weekly goals can be a great way of keeping the mind focused and can lead to better overall results in the long run. Its great for motivation to achieve lots of short term goals whilst in pursuit of a much larger goal that can take time to achieve. This can help keep you on track and focused.

If your goal is weight loss. It’s great to focus on more manageable amounts say a weekly target of 1-2 pounds rather than a much larger target of a stone. This is great as lots of wins along the way - rather than one big win at the end - leads to a greater sense of satisfaction and enjoyment on your journey.

It is also important to have a clearly defined plan to hit your weekly goal.

A good example in a weight loss context would be to come up with a plan for how your going to tackle eating out. Maybe by having a look at the menu in advance and choosing the lower calorie option.

Having a rough idea of what your eating in advance often leads to better choices and avoids rushed decision making when busy and stressed.

Whatever your goals, have a think at the start of the week and ask yourself, what actions do I need to take to hit my goals for this week? ?

Make a plan and you will find it’s a lot easier to succeed.
